Have a Question?
The Indigitous team is here to help you kick off your Hackathon. Please reach out to us if you need specific guidance from our team.
How much is the registration?
It depends on the city in which you are participating. Please fill out the #HACK interest form, and we will gladly connect you to the closest #HACK city.
Is #HACK only for people who can code?
#HACK welcomes anyone who wants to collaborate on mission-focused, technology projects with long-term impact. While our work focuses on multiple technology platforms, you don’t have to be a programmer to get involved. We need designers, photographers, writers, project managers, social media gurus — creative thinkers of all types! The most important skill is the ability to work as a team and find ways to problem-solve. Also, while Indigitous #HACK is explicitly Christian, participants from any (or no) faith background are welcomed warmly.
Are there any costs involved for partnering organizations?
None, other than creating a 3-minute video.
What types of challenges/requests do you accept?
Those that require a technical, digital, UX/UI, data analysis, or communications solution that doesn't currently exist.
About how many hours of work will be accomplished during the #HACK?
10-30 hours to describe your challenge, create a short video, submit the necessary data and be available during both #HACK weekends to answer any questions.
Who will work on our challenge?
We will offer your challenge to our #HACK locations for participants to choose if they wish and possess the skills needed.
Will a finished product be completed during #HACK?
The product completion largely depends on the size of the proposed challenge for a weekend innovation sprint.
What happens post-#HACK?
You will receive the solutions that were developed by the teams to potentially initiate further collaboration, internships or paid work with certain teams.
Will we get any support during the hackathon?
Absolutely. Our regional support team will be available to help you with preparation beforehand and during the event.
What is a Hackathon?
A hackathon is a hands-on event for computer programmers, developers, engineers, user experience specialists, project managers and others. People with technical backgrounds come together, form teams around a problem or idea, and collaboratively develop a unique solution.
What is unique about the Indigitous #HACK?
The Indigitous #HACK gathers those with a desire to bring the gospel to where it needs to go. #HACK offers participants an opportunity to meet the needs of the mission, the church and society on a local and global scale. We learn from one another and make new friends while fulfilling the Great Commission through new innovative platforms and digital strategies.
What is a mass collaboration?
Mass collaboration is a form of a collective action where large numbers of people, who may have no previous connection, effectively and creatively work towards a common goal. The greater diversity of skill represented on each team, the higher the team’s capacity to successfully tackle the task at hand. #HACK levels mass collaboration on a global scale, connecting like-minded believers across every region of the world through expertise and prayer.
God gave us an amazing opportunity to use our talents for His kingdom. It’s been so good to be with Godly and professional brothers.
It opened my eyes to see how a hackathon could help solve real world problems.
I’ve never been in a setting where technology, missions, and faith are directly linked. This is the perfect space to see that come to life for me.
The best hackathon ever, combining a church camp and a hackathon.
The best part was the amazing ideas, faith, and hard work it takes to develop something that really impacts.
I joined #HACK to make a change in the world.
I loved seeing God’s mission in action.
