What You Need to Host a #HACK

No matter the location or the size, each #HACK has 6 key building blocks:

  1. Prayer
  2. Plan
  3. Program
  4. People
  5. Place
  6. Prototype

If you have these 6, you can host a #HACK. The flexibility of #HACK allows it to be tailored to the needs of any location and to the people who join.

This #HACK Guide brings together some of the best practices and principles for hosting a hackathon for missions and was created for up to 15 attendees or participants. For larger groups, we’ve added some additional information that might be helpful. We are very grateful to the champions and communities all around the world who have shared with us what they’ve learned about hosting #HACK.

Different Types of #HACK Events

Since #HACK was started in 2016 it’s been hosted in homes, churches, schools, and event halls. Sometimes there are less than 10 participants and sometimes there are hundreds of participants.
